The Policy Research Services Coordinator, works in collaboration with the Senior Policy Advisor, Research, to support and operationalize strategic research policies and initiatives led by VPRI leadership including the Vice-President, Associate Vice-Presidents, and Assistant Vice-Presidents, to advance and promote York University's research agenda and reputation.
University degree in relevant discipline such as political science, law, business, communications.
Minimum 3 years' experience working in an academic research, government, or public policy environment.
Knowledge of the Canadian academic research funding environment.
Knowledge of University research policies, procedures, and governance structures.
Demonstrated high level of computer literacy and proficiency with the use of Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent proficiency in both oral and written communication.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse teams.
Demonstrated ability to exercise tact, diplomacy and good judgment in sensitive situations and maintain high degree of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
Ability to work in a team environment and flexibility to undertake a diverse range of tasks with minimal supervision.
Demonstrated high level of organisational, project, time, and workload management skills, including the ability to prioritise workload to meet multiple competing deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to use initiative, assume responsibility for tasks and projects and to resolve problems.
Work is performed in a normal office environment (actual or virtual).
Multiple competing priorities and deadlines.

York implemented a revised CPM Compensation Framework in 2019. The Framework is a salary grid consisting of 6 or 8 steps (depending on job grade) which is reviewed annually with possible adjustments, and a lump sum Performance Based Recognition Award.
