Purpose:
The purpose of this position is to provide support for SEEC enterprise systems, resolve problems, and recommend new initiatives to meet SEEC business needs. This includes identifying and analyzing business requirements, translating requirements to technical specifications, and designing and developing solutions using appropriate development tools. When necessary, liaise with third party developers to develop enhancement, trouble-shoot production systems, ensure system availability, and establish functional efficiency. Develop custom modules and systems for current applications, modify and upgrade software. This requires good oversight of the SEEC business cycle and working closely with all SEEC stakeholders to ensure appropriate and efficient business processes are in place. Monitor database for data integrity, analyze operational reporting requirements, and define solutions to meet those requirements while ensuring production reporting jobs are functioning efficiently and effectively. This position is also to provide support for SEEC Marketing and Communication team in recommending and implementing new tools as required.

Education:
University degree in computer science or an equivalent of 4 years recent experience (defined as within the last five years) working at York University and performing the same or similar tasks. This education equivalency is in addition to the experiential requirements outlined below.

Experience:
Three (3) years of recent related experience in technical and end-user support in a network environment, preferably in an academic setting. Required experience to include: a) building customized reports with Crystal or equivalent, b) dealing with computer packages and their applications, c) setup, support and troubleshooting in various instructional technologies including audio-visual and multi-media based technologies.

Skills:
Good communication and writing skills in English in order to communicate technical ideas both verbally and in writing to technical and non-technical audiences, and to provide documentation of procedures. Good analytic and problem solving skills in order to resolve problems with the systems that are frequently unclear and complicated. Good interpersonal skills in working with clients to define business needs and resolve problems. Ability to work well with others in a team environment, and must also be able to work independently. Dealing courteously and effectively with people at all levels. Must be able to set priorities among competing demands and work under the pressure of high volume and unanticipated work loads. Good organizational skills. presentation and facilitative skills. proven ability to exercise good judgment and initiative. Ability to work with ill-defined Client specifications to access clients requirements. Excellent attendance and punctuality essential. Knowledge of relational databases, SQL and Crystal Reports, and data analytic tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Salesforce).

Hours of work: 8:30 am to 4:30pm, Monday to FridayOvertime may be necessary during peak periodsPeak periods for this position: September to November, January to April
