Purpose:
The Project Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the accreditation process for the proposed York University School of Medicine. All medical schools in Canada must undergo accreditation by the Committee on the Accreditation of Canadian Medical Schools (CACMS) through a rigorous peer-review process. Schools must adhere to strict educational and training standards, and ensure the necessary resources, infrastructure and support systems are in place to produce graduates who are well-prepared to serve in the Ontario and Canadian health care systems. Under the direction of the Accreditation Committee Project Implementation Manager (Manager), the Project Coordinator role supports a portfolio of assigned MD Program Development and Accreditation Committees associated with the proposed York University School of Medicine. Each Committee has unique terms of reference, membership and focus, yet all work together to research, draft and propose elements of a submission to CACMS. To support and facilitate committee work, the role will conduct research, prepare meeting materials, schedules meetings, tracks action items and deliverables, and ensure smooth communication and documentation throughout the accreditation process, ensuring timely follow-up and alignment with the school's mission and accreditation standards. The Project Coordinator demonstrates commitment to promoting decolonization, diversity, equity, and inclusion in medical education and fostering a culture of excellence, professionalism, and lifelong learning.

Education:
University degree in a relevant field is required or an equivalent of 4 years recent experience (defined as within the last five years) working at York University and performing the same or similar tasks. This education equivalency is in addition to the experiential requirements outlined below.

Experience:
Three (3) years related work experience in project management/coordination and partnership development/management required.

Ability to exercise good judgment and flexibility in an environment of continuous change and process improvement.
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team in an environment of high volume and competing priorities.
Ability to adapt to new and emerging technologies.Additional knowledge required:
Intermediate MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skills, including demonstrated knowledge of functions/formulae, creating queries and reports, filtering, sorting, and linking (mail merge).
Knowledge of healthcare sector and accreditation processes.
Cross-cultural knowledge and awareness of the principles and practices of Decolonization, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.
Knowledge and familiarity with project management software.

Please note: This position requires the candidate to produce a verification of degree(s), credentials(s), or equivalencies from accredited institutions and/or international equivalents at the time of interview. Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am â?? 4:30 pm. Flexibility is required when working with committees.
