Purpose:
The Recreation Attendant is responsible for supporting the operational, administrative, and technical functions of various recreational facilities under the direction of the Manager, Fitness and Lifestyle.

Education:

- Current Standard/Emergency First Aid and CPR Level C certification is required.
- Certifications such as Personal Trainer, Fitness Instructor, or referee certifications are considered assets.
- Training in conflict management is also an asset.

Experience:

- Experience in customer service is an asset.

Skills:

- Knowledge of fitness equipment, recreation programs, and sports regulations.
- Knowledge of relevant software (e.g., IMLeagues, Fusion).
- Ability to communicate with others to explain and share information effectively.
- Effective organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities.
- Ability to understand and demonstrate instructions, policies, and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to plan social activities, programs and events that contribute to an engaged community.
- Ability to demonstrate responsible, ethical and professional conduct.

Additional Notes:

- Ability to lift/move/carry equipment or material of varying weights up to 50 lbs.
- Participation in 'Becoming YU' is required, a program designed to support skill development and reflection on personal, academic, and professional experiences. This includes regular meetings with a student employment supervisor/coach to review progress and receive feedback.
