Purpose:
Ancillary Services provides a wide range of professionally managed campus services and amenities to enhance the student experience and support York University's mission, vision, and priorities. With a commitment to sustainability, equity, diversity and inclusion, Ancillary Services works with partners to provide effective experiences and enhance the quality of campus life in alignment with the University's core values.Reporting to the Operations Manager, Food and Vending Services, the Operations Coordinator assists with ensuring front-line quality assurance for Food and Vending operations on Keele, Glendon, and Markham campuses. The role assists the Operations Manager by monitoring services provided by contracted food services providers, ensuring goods and services provided align with contracted and legal requirements. The role also assists with monitoring the safe food handling practices. The role also triages maintenance and repair issues and initiates corrective measures and establishes and maintains an equipment inventory.

Education:
College diploma in Business, Hospitality Management, or a related field which includes post-secondary courses in nutrition or food safety, or an equivalent of 2 years recent experience (defined as within the last three years) working at York University and performing the same or similar tasks. This education equivalency is in addition to the experiential requirements outlined below. Food handler's certificate is required.

Experience:
Three (3) years of recent related experience working in high volume food and vending services operations and interacting with contracted food service providers in an institutional environment. Knowledge of Food Safety Inspection by-laws, alcohol, and public health regulations is required. Working knowledge of safe use of kitchen equipment and maintenance is required.

- Strong planning and organizational skills with ability to prioritize workload and meet timelines.
- Ability to adapt to ongoing change, and practices.
- Excellent analytical skills. Must be accurate when working with figures and providing information.
- Effective communication skills..
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)
