Purpose:
Facilities Services is a team of professionals who are committed to the delivery of support services that strive to enhance the quality of campus life for all students, faculty, staff, and visitors. We are responsible for providing a safe, clean, productive, and well-maintained physical learning and working environment through the effective planning and delivery of professional services in design, construction, maintenance, utilities, caretaking, and grounds. With a commitment to sustainability, equity, diversity and inclusion, Facilities Services works with campus partners to provide exceptional customer service and satisfaction in alignment with the University's core values.Operator is required to operate a large variety of trucks, tractors and equipment in connection with the maintenance and improvement of University grounds, roads, walks, and parking lots.

Education:
High School Diploma. Applicant must have a Pesticide Technician Certificate or enroll in an MOE approved Pesticide Technician Program and successfully complete the same within a 60 day *trial/probationary period. Must hold valid Classes D and F, with a MoT air brake endorsement and have a driving record acceptable to the University.

Experience:
Must have a minimum of three years' experience in the operation of at least three of the following types of equipment:
- Trucks over 11,000 kg.
- Snow ploughs and sanders
- Agricultural tractors with implements
- Skid-steer and articulated loaders
- Backhoes
- Ice Resurfacers

Skills:

- Demonstrated ability to lift and move materials
- Demonstrated ability to work independently

Physical demands involved in this position:
- Constant walking
- Frequent lifting/pushing/moving of items up to 40 pounds
- Frequent climbing, twisting, pushing/pulling, leaning
- Bending and kneeling to complete some activities
- Climbing of ladders and stairsWorking Conditions:
- Outdoor work in various weather conditions
- Required use of telephone/radio/smartphone and various applications
