Purpose:
York University is transforming its student systems, changing from its current on-premise tools, to vendor-driven cloud-based solutions which will improve student experience and support faculty and employees to achieve their academic and administrative needs. The Project and Delivery Manager leads the project to transform York's existing Admissions, Recruitment and Digital Marketing tools to a new solution which will interface with York's current applications and information landscape. Project leadership responsibilities include the planning and management of large scale complex multi-faceted projects, including interdependent projects/efforts, requiring sophisticated coordination to ensure completion of projects on time, within budget, and within scope. The role guides the entirety of projects from planning to implementation to deployment. The role works closely with the UIT Project Management Office (PMO), solution integrators and other vendors to successfully lead, manage, and complete projects. In this capacity, the role sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, monitors, summarizes progress of implementation project(s), prepares reports for senior management on project status, and ensures proper documentation and end user satisfaction. The Project and Delivery Manager is process-driven, service-oriented, has a keen lens to navigate towards goals and a desire to deliver solutions that support institutional objectives. The role will use advanced project management and leadership skills to drive projects forward. This position will operate within a matrixed structure and will play a key role in agile teams of cross-functional resources, formed to complete project deliverables.

Education:
Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline, such as Business, Computer Science, or Engineering.
PMP designation or similar certification in good standing.

Experience:
5 years of related experience.
3 years of management experience.
Current and related experience managing the overall development and implementation of complex and large-scale IT projects, including leading project teams.
Experience with providing and creating conditions for service excellence for a variety of partners such as students, faculty, employees, colleagues, and users.
Experience using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and online collaboration tools such as Teams, Miro, and Zoom Whiteboard.
Experience with project management tools such as MS Project, Jira, BigPicture.

Knowledge:
In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies, including PMBOK, systems development lifecycle frameworks, Agile, and quality assurance such as systems and user acceptance testing techniques.
Knowledgeable on current and emerging information technologies to inform the preparation and monitoring of IT related projects such as ERP, CRM, e-business and custom applications.
Knowledge of both waterfall and agile principles to inform a hybrid development approach.

Effective research, presentation and report writing skills.
Effective time management skills and the ability to work under pressure of high volume and expectation, while meeting multiple deadlines for multiple projects.
Ability to collaborate and cooperate with team members, project sponsors, and the wider York University community.
Ability to exercise sound judgment, tact, and diplomacy, as a team leader and member.
Effective motivational and diplomacy skills appropriate to large and complex organizations.
Ability to effectively navigate a professional and political climate.
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Effective service orientation coupled with an ability to recognize and assess the operational significance of a problem, identify/control/mitigate risk, and set priorities accordingly.
Ability to quickly learn new systems, technologies and project management methods and tools.

*Compensation:
York's CPM Compensation Framework has a salary grid consisting of 6 or 8 steps (depending on job grade) which is reviewed annually with possible adjustments, and a lump sum Performance Based Recognition Award.
