Purpose:
Osgoode Professional Development (OsgoodePD) is a revenue-generating professional education branch of Osgoode Hall Law School, operating within a highly competitive commercial market for professional and executive continuing education. OsgoodePD offers degree and non-degree programs to both domestic and international students. Offerings include full-time and part-time graduate degree and diploma programs, non-degree certificates, seminars and skills workshops, summer school and bridging programs, webinars, and custom training for corporations and government. Staff and programs are located at both the York University campus and OsgoodePD's downtown Toronto office. This role will be required to work out of all OsgoodePD locations which includes Keele campus, One Dundas location (downtown), etc. on an as needed basis.The Program Assistant is the primary point of contact in serving OsgoodePD's students that are enrolled in the various academic programs.

Education:
Community college diploma or an equivalent of 2 years recent experience (defined as within the last three years) working at York University and performing the same or similar tasks. This education equivalency is in addition to the experiential requirements outlined below.

Experience:
2 years of recent experience in program/student services administration, administrative/secretarial work in a professional service high volume environment, preferably in an academic program setting with a University. Recent experience providing a consistently high level of responsive front-line client service to post-secondary students and/or members of the business/corporate community required. Proven experience in working with details in a consistently accurate, fast, and efficient manner.

Skills:
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to deal effectively, professionally, and personably with a diverse student population (mature students, international students, lawyers, and professionals).
Ability to exercise discretion with sensitive issues and confidential materials.
Excellent oral and written communications.
Strong service orientation.
Highly developed organizational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively as part of a small team.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced front-line role. 
Typing 45-50 w.p.m., accuracy essential.
Microsoft Word (intermediate-advanced), Excel (intermediate), PowerPoint (intermediate).
Demonstrated experience with e-mail software (e.g. Outlook).
Working with an online records system (e.g. SIS).
Experience using a learning management system (e.g. Moodle) preferred.
