Purpose:
The Centre Coordinator role is responsible for providing administrative support to the Director as well as coordinating programs and initiatives, and the administration of financial reports. The role coordinates the Centre's activities, speakers' series, and research and training events, and supports ORU members and the Centre's governance structure.

Education:
University degree in social science, humanities, health or a related field of study associated to research carried out by the Mad Studies Hub, or an equivalent of 4 years recent experience (defined as within the last five years) working at York University and performing the same or similar tasks. This education equivalency is in addition to the experiential requirements outlined below.

Experience:
Two (2) years of related work experience in an academic or related research focused unit, research organization or NGO environment providing financial and administrative support including event coordination and outreach and liaising with funding agencies.

Skills:

- Effective communication skills, ability to produce clear and concise documentation and reports. Acting with tact, diplomacy, and timeliness.
- Financial administration skills for assisting with preparing budgets, monitoring, and reconciliation of financial transactions.
- Project coordination skills to coordinate the Centre's operations, multiple research projects, and events.
- Ability to work successfully with a wide range of partners including researchers, students, staff, community groups, and private / public-sector organizations.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet multiple competing deadlines.
- Effective organizational and time management skills.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as a member of a team.
- Ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality.
- Knowledge of and ability to apply frameworks of decolonization, equity, diversity, and inclusion.
- Intermediate skills in MS Office (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint) and Web editing applications, Zoom, WordPress, common social media platforms, and graphic design skills for creating posters and reports.
