Purpose:
The Manager, Graduate Admissions & Document Processing role leads a team of professionals that are student-centered and responsive to the needs of York University's diverse student population. The FGS has a unique opportunity to provide high level, student-centered service from a student's first interaction with the University through every step to graduation.Under the direction of the FGS Executive Officer, the Manager role provides leadership to the graduate admission assessors for the timely and accurate assessment of applications for both domestic and international graduate applicants. The role serves as the central point of contact among faculties and departments across campuses for all matters related to graduate assessment. The Manager role also leads the document processing team responsible for planning, implementation, and oversight of operational activities involving the processing of admission application and documents associated with applications (e.g., application forms, transcripts, supporting documents, etc.) in both hard copy and electronic format.The Manager, Graduate Admissions & Document Processing role requires a student-focused professional who shares and lives the divisional values of Courage, Connection and Empathy. Education:
Bachelors degree in a relevant discipline.

Experience:
4 years experience in records management, preferably in a postsecondary education. Environment. Experience with online management information systems (CRM), and large databases. 2 years of management or supervisory experience required.

Skills:
Domestic and international curricula and grading systems.
Experience working with large databases and analyzing data.
Experience with a customer relationship management (CRM) system. Skills
Able to effectively lead, motivate, and engage staff.
Effective communications and judgment skills. Able to exercise tact and diplomacy and maintain confidentiality. Attention to detail.
Able to synthesize and analyze data.
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point).
Able to prioritize and meet deadlines.
Effective customer service and interpersonal skills.
Effective organizational and time management skills to deliver results with competing priorities. Problem-solving skills, attention to detail. Able to work independently.
Able to work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions that enhance organizational effectiveness. Accept and give constructive feedback. Be willing to take direction when required.
Effectively cultivate relationships with internal and external partners.

*Compensation:
York's CPM Compensation Framework has a salary grid consisting of 6 or 8 steps (depending on job grade) which is reviewed annually with possible adjustments, and a lump sum Performance Based Recognition Award. Employees will receive the grid adjustment and depending on performance, eligible permanent employees may move to the next step of the grid and may receive a lump sum Performance Based Recognition Award.Visit the CPM Compensation page on the HR Website to find out more about York's CPM Compensation Program.
