Purpose:
Under the direction of the Director, External Relations and Communications the incumbent organizes and coordinates academic conferences and other events for the research office, and faculty. The Research Events and Communication Coordinator provides administrative support to development of exchanges and partnerships and is primary contact for the official visitors to the Law School. The incumbent supports the Associate Dean, Research & Institutional Relations (Research & Institutional Relations) on effective delivery of services to enhance, promote and support the research in the areas of international/national and special project initiatives for the Law School as well as assisting with research dissemination through the web, social media and video and supporting print, video and digital marketing efforts.
Education:
Community College Diploma in Business Administration or related discipline required or an equivalent of 2 years recent experience (defined as within the last three years) working at York University and performing the same or similar tasks. This education equivalency is in addition to the experiential requirements outlined below.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years recent related experience coordinating events, event marketing , research dissemination, and exchanges coordination. Experience preparing financial forms including Claim for Reimbursement. Experience with desktop publishing software, such as InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator is required. Experience in a research-focused unit or University setting preferred.
Skills:
Familiarity with eReports and with research accounting procedures and accounting forms.

Ability to work with design files from designers, create own original designs for posters, invitations, etc. (InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator) and create WordPress website using York template ability to work effectively both independently and as a member of a team.
