Purpose:
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to the undergraduate program faculty members, administrative support to committees, and provides support to students. This position provides support to the various programs, as required, within the Department. The position administers the academic processes of contract faculty (CUPE Unit 1, 2 or CUPE-E) hiring and the Academic Resource Management System and provides support for academic procedures for Undergraduate Degree Programs and administers the workflow for the programs' activities, including the budget.The role supports the vision, mission, values and strategic direction of Glendon College and York University, and contributes to a positive, supportive, and client-focused team environment of high performance, respect, trust, collaboration, and continuous improvement and embraces diversity and fosters inclusion.

Education:
Community College Diploma in a related field such as Office Administration, Business Administration or a related field or an equivalent of 2 years recent experience (defined as within the last three years) working at York University and performing the same or similar tasks. This education equivalency is in addition to the experiential requirements outlined below.

Experience:
Two (2) years of demonstrated experience in office administration in an academic School/Department, experience supporting academic processes is required. Some bookkeeping knowledge to assist with budgeting and accounting functions is required.

Effective oral and written communication in French and English to obtain and relay information accurately.

Able to work effectively and accurately under pressure of high volume and frequent interruptions.
Abley to multi-task and maintain strong attention to detail.
Excellent organizational skills including ability to set priorities.
Able to proactively pursue completion of tasks to meet deadlines.
Able to work independently, effectively and collaboratively in a team and with other departments within the Faculty and across the University.
Able to type/keyboard at 40-45 wpm, accuracy is essential.Technical
Knowledge of an on-line computerized records system (e.g., SIS), .
Knowledge of Course Equipment Order (CEO) system.
Experience with MS 365, including intermediate word processing (MS Word), spreadsheet (MS Excel) and email skills (Outlook).
Experience with updating websites, using Contribute and/or WordPress is an asset.Other
Demonstrated record of good attendance, punctuality, and reliability.
