Purpose:
Reporting to the Director of Glendon Professional Development Centre, the Web and Communications Assistant is responsible for the creative design, development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of the Glendon Professional Development Centre's (PDC) department portfolio (Continuing Education (CE), Experiential Education (EE), Career Development Centre (CDC) and Writing Centre (WC)) websites and web-based projects, the implementation and administration of online registration and payment systems, the design, administration, and production of PDC marketing materials, the implementation of marketing and communications priorities and initiatives including social media. The Web and Communications Assistant is responsible for keeping abreast of emerging trends and best practices related to web design and communications. The Web and Communications Assistant also ensures that all materials (web, print and social media) follow York University brand guidelines and templates and align with the faculty's communications goals. The Web and Communications Assistant supports the vision, mission, values, and strategic direction of the PDC by understanding and contributing to the goals and objectives of the department.
Education:
Undergraduate degree in communications, marketing or a related field or an equivalent of 4 years recent experience (defined as within the last five years) working at York University and performing the same or similar tasks. This education equivalency is in addition to the experiential requirements outlined below.
Experience:
Two years of related communication, web and marketing design and development experience including experience in CRM, LMS, registration and payment web design and maintenance, graphic design and content development, etc., preferably in a post-secondary environment, is required.

- Client management database systems (e.g. Edwiser, Orbis, WooCommerce, etc.), Google Analytics
- Social media tools (e.g. Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram) and strategy/content development, application packages (e.g. MS Office and Google Suite)
- Graphic design tools (e.g. Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Canva)
- Thorough knowledge of web accessibility and ability to create AODA-compliant websites and PDFsOther
