Purpose:
The Coordinator Facilities Services is responsible for providing first point of contact as it relates to facility related support including maintenance of physical space, work order coordination, access control, as well as coordinating health and safety activities within the School. The incumbent also supports the safe operation of Department of Theatre's facilities by coordinating and/or completing equipment preventative maintenance activities and ordering supplies to support curriculum.
Education:
High School Diploma. Post-secondary courses with specialized training in a related discipline or equivalent professional experience would be considered an asset.
Experience:
Three years recent (as defined within the last five years) related experience in physical resources, facilities coordination, and asset control. Experience working in an academic and/or in a theatre production environment would be considered assets. Familiarity with Occupational Health & Safety Act, WHMIS, Performance Industry Safety Guidelines and access control methods would be considered assets.
Skills:
Demonstrated skills including:
- Ability to work independently and set priorities.
- Ability to inspect and clean shop equipment.
- Familiarity with the internal responsibility system and risk management concepts.
- Effective interpersonal skills, including flexibility, tact and courtesy.
- Ability to exercise good judgment and initiative.
- Ability to deal calmly, courteously and effectively with people.
- Good written communication skills.
- Ability to work accurately and effectively under pressure.Demonstrated computer skills including:
- Basic word processing (MS Word)
- Intermediate spreadsheets (MS Excel)
- Database use (SnipeIT, 25Live Booking System)

Additional Notes:
Hours of work: Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Flexible hours will be required for special events/projects.Peak periods: Late August, September, January.Hours during peak periods: SameVacation restriction: Late August, September, January. Vacation may also be restricted due to operational requirements and/or other staff approved absences.
