Purpose:
Osgoode Professional Development (OsgoodePD) is a revenue-generating professional education department of Osgoode Hall Law School, operating within a highly competitive commercial market for professional and executive continuing education. OsgoodePD offers degree and non-degree programs to both local and international students. Offerings include full-time and part-time graduate degree LLMs, non-degree certificates, seminars and skills workshops, summer school and bridging programs, webinars, and custom training for corporations and government. Staff and programs are located at both the York University campus and OsgoodePD's downtown Toronto office.Under the direction of the Digital Marketing Manager, the Social Media and Content Specialist coordinates, develops, executes, and evaluates content and communications for OsgoodePD current and prospective students/registrants. This role is responsible for all aspects of OsgoodePD's social media channels including maintaining a content calendar, generating copy, graphics and videos, administering and creating paid media campaigns, creating social media marketing plans and reporting on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). This role will also control OsgoodePD's monthly newsletter, web blog and other content pieces that will be used in cross-organizational channels. The Social Media and Content Specialist will act as a subject matter expert in the social space, exploring opportunities for new platforms and new formats. This role will deal with a high volume of various content pieces/formats. This requires a proactive individual who can immerse themselves in all aspects of OsgoodePD in order to generate and obtain content.

Education:
University degree in a relevant field such as Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or Marketing or an equivalent of 4 years recent experience (defined as within the last 5 years) working at York University and performing the same or similar tasks. This educational equivalency is in addition to the experiential requirements outlined below. Certification in Google, LinkedIn and Meta required.

Experience:
Three years recent experience (defined as within the last five years) in a similar role where responsibilities included hands-on experience in communications and marketing with an emphasis on professional content creation and organic and paid social media content creation and management. Experience with online monitoring and measurement platforms such as Sprout Social, Google Analytics, Hootsuite and other relevant social media and digital reporting tools. Previous Search Engine Optimization, Paid Social Advertising and Paid Search experience is required. Experience using a project management system (Asana preferred).

Skills:
Effective interpersonal skills including diplomacy and professionalism in interactions with internal and external partners.
Effective communication, research, and interview skills required to create timely and compelling content.
High degree of skill in creating engaging professional writing and content development skills, including the capacity to develop concise, persuasive social media copy and content.
Ability to write, edit, and proofread at an advanced level, maintaining a high level of accuracy in grammar and spelling for content creation.
Effective organization and project coordination skills (Asana).
Accuracy and attention to detail.
Good organizational and record-keeping skills.
Ability to work effectively under pressure of demands and deadlines.
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

Technical Skills:
Advanced, in-depth knowledge and experience with organic and paid social (LinkedIn, Facebook, X, YouTube, BlueSky), web analytics (Google Analytics) and implementation (Google Tag Manager).
Ability to use social media platforms, social media scheduling, hashtag mining, listening, discussion forums, wikis, blogs, and search engine optimization (SEO) to enhance and promote website pages, campaigns, social media content, and other media files, including any digital media.
Experience with in-app video editing tools (Instagram Edits, CapCut).
Demonstrated proficiency in social media marketing best practices and knowledge of emerging trends in digital communications. Clear understanding of and demonstrated ability to use social media to achieve business objectives, including reputation management.
Ability to integrate social media into broader communications and marketing campaigns, and identify trends and opportunities within the user-generated content space.
Demonstrated knowledge of relevant policies and standards such as Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), Website Content Accessibility Guide (WCAG), Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
Ability to use design software, including Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Premiere, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, and Illustrator) to produce digital materials including video, animations, pages, email campaigns, social media content, and other media files.
Ability to use photographic equipment, digital photography, and audio and video, and import files into digital artwork to produce print materials, website pages, email blasts, social media content, and other media files.
Experience with social media scheduling tools such as SproutSocial or Hootsuite.
