Purpose:
The PGME Programs Manager is a leadership, consultant and collaborator role on program design for College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) postgraduate medical education programs within the School of Medicine. The Manager is responsible for, coordinating, administering, and overseeing residency and fellowship for five medical residency programs. Reporting to Director Transitions Team, the role takes a co-leadership role in creating an institutional environment supportive of teaching and learning excellence.The role serves as a key support role to the accreditation process and committees led by the Advisor, Postgraduate Medical Education. The role collaborates with other Advisors including Advisor, Curriculum and Accreditation, Advisor, Assessment, Advisor Faculty Development and Advisor, Undergraduate Curriculum and Operations, and other Advisors as needed, partners and clinical and non-clinical Faculty. With this collaboration, the role develops, revises and finalizes the postgraduate residency programs for the CFPC and RCPSC, policies and procedures required by the accrediting bodies, York University's Quality Assurance Procedures (YUQAP).The role demonstrates commitment to promoting decolonization, diversity, equity, and inclusion in medical education and fostering a culture of excellence, professionalism, and lifelong learning.

Education:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.
Masters Degree in education or other related discipline, preferred.

Experience:
4 years related experience.
Experience in medical education, and/or postgraduate medical education experience.
Experience in project management.
Experience managing staff in a unionized environment.
Experience with equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) in educational settings.


Skills:
Knowledge of key principles in CFPC and\or postgraduate medical education programs is a strong asset.
Knowledge and expertise in the planning, development and implementation of educational programming at a diverse institution over multiple sites.
Extensive knowledge of theory and best practices in postgraduate medical education and learning and teaching in higher education.
Familiarity with active learning approaches in real-world clinical and community health settings.
Familiarity with CanMEDs competencies.
Knowledge and understanding of Canadian medical schools and the Canadian medical profession. knowledge and understanding of postgraduate medical education innovations. knowledge of CFPC and RCPSC accreditation processes.
Knowledge of various medical disciplines, regulatory bodies, related university programs and professional associations.
Knowledge of the post-secondary system in Ontario, and Canada.
Effective research, information management, writing skills. Relevant program planning, design, development and implementation skills.
Ability to collaborate with complex teams, subject matter experts and ideally experience consulting with university academic leadership and faculty members to evaluate needs, advise actions, recommend activities and build consensus.
Ability to assess program needs, prepare comprehensive reports, proposals, manuals and presentation materials for specific target audiences.
Effective communication, conflict management and facilitation skills to be able to work with colleagues at different levels in the organization.
Ability to independently manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

*Compensation:
York's CPM Compensation Framework has a salary grid consisting of 6 or 8 steps (depending on job grade) which is reviewed annually with possible adjustments, and a lump sum Performance Based Recognition Award.
