Purpose:
Ancillary Services provides a wide range of professionally managed campus services and amenities to enhance the student experience and support York University's mission, vision and priorities. With a commitment to sustainability, equity, diversity and inclusion, Ancillary Services works with internal and external partners to provide exceptional experiences and enhance the quality of campus life in alignment with the University's core values.Reporting to the Assistant Manager, Off-Campus Housing, the Data and Reporting Analyst researches best practices, new initiatives, collects statistics and data, and provides high-level reporting analysis for the Department regarding housing occupancy rates at the University. This research provides the division with the necessary information and data required to analyze short-term and long-term trends for developing an occupancy management strategy for the university and will assist the University in meeting its enrolment targets by helping ensure alignment with local markets, competitors, best practices, and the department's value proposition.

Education:
Community college diploma in Business Administration or a related field with courses in statistical collection and analysis or an equivalent of 2 years recent experience (defined as within the last three years) working at York University and performing the same or similar tasks. This education equivalency is in addition to the experiential requirements outlined below.

Experience:
One (1) year of recent related experience in a similar field, including experience gathering and analyzing market and comparator data, experience formulating and presenting recommendations based on data.

Skills:

- Effective analytical skills to gather, synthesize, and interpret data for reports and make recommendations
- Effective communication skills including ability to de-escalate situations
- Effective research and interview skills
- Effective organizational and time management skills
- Knowledge of housing legislation, such as the Residential Tenancy Act and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA)Technical Skills:
- Intermediate level Office 365 / Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Power Point skills for preparing a variety of documents such as spreadsheets, reports, graphs, etc.
