Purpose:
Reporting to the Manager, Recruitment, Admissions and Student Services the Student Services Assistant role delivers a high-quality standard of customer service in a front-line role responding to the needs of Undergraduate Student Services visitors. The Student Services Assistant also provides general office support.

Education:
High-school diploma.

Experience:
Two years recent, related work experience in a post-secondary institution including providing front-line customer service to prospective and current students. Experience must include explaining academic admission and program requirements, policies and legislation, using a computerized student information system and processing academic documents.

Enthusiastic attitude, professionalism, and strong commitment to student service, delivering an excellent level of frontline customer service.

Ability to deal calmly, professionally, and confidently with a range of enquiries.
Effective communications skills to obtain and relay information accurately in a clear, concise, and courteous manner.
Demonstrated knowledge of secondary and post-secondary academic records and supporting documents.
Work effectively independently and as a team member.
Effective organizational skills including ability to work in a front-line environment, respond to customer enquiries while remaining focused and prioritizing enquiries with other tasks.
Effective attention to detail.
Demonstrated good judgement and ability to take initiative.
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
Demonstrated commitment in delivering excellent service to support the success of the Faculty.
MS Office, Internet, computerized file management, experience with SIS or a similar on-line student records system, ability to understand, learn and apply new technologies.

Additional Notes:
Additionally, being reliable and punctual are requirements in this role.
