Purpose:
Under the leadership of the Head Coach, the Assistant Football Coach, Offensive role fosters a positive culture that embraces and supports student-athletes, in the pursuit of excellence both on and off the field. In addition to coaching responsibilities, this role provides direct leadership and supervision to assistant coaches and student employees, ensuring alignment with program objectives and departmental standards. The position is accountable for managing day-to-day operations of the offensive unit, including staff performance, training, and development, and plays a key role in collaborative hiring and performance review processes. The role leads national recruiting for offensive positions in coordination with Varsity Administration, and manages off-field operations including onboarding, study hall, team meals, travel, and camps/clinics, maintaining accurate, audit-ready records. The position ensures adherence to OUA/U SPORTS regulations, safeguarding/concussion and privacy requirements, and Athletics & Recreation policies. authorizes operational plans and staffing within delegated limits. and represents the program at designated league, community, and alumni forums while advancing an inclusive, respectful team culture.The role adheres to the values and principles of Athletics and Recreation aligned to providing dignity for all, respect for all, including others' time and contributions, fairness in all we do and create, and to hold the values of inclusivity and equity as key to a safe and collaborative environment that fosters success.

Education:

- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline such as kinesiology or physical education.
- NCCP Level III Coaching Certification,
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification
- Valid Driver's License and satisfactory Driver's Abstract.
- Please note: This position requires the candidate to produce a Vulnerable Sector Check satisfactory to the University prior to commencement of employment. This position also requires the candidate to produce a verification of degree(s), credential(s) or equivalencies from accredited institutions and/or international equivalents at the time of interview.

Experience:

- 4 years related experience, including supervision of staff and leading an offensive unit or position group.
- Football coaching experience at the high school, college, or university level.
- Experience in administration of sport programs.

Skills:
Knowledge
- Knowledge of all aspects of football.
- Knowledge of analytics required for football.
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making. ability to set standards, assign work, and hold staff accountable.
- Working knowledge of OUA/U SPORTS regulations, safeguarding (e.g., concussion protocol), privacy, and University policies.Skills
- Able to effectively teach and develop university caliber athletes.
- Effective communication organizational, interpersonal, record keeping, and numeracy skills.
- Problem-solving skills.

Additional Notes:

- Normal office working environment.
- Coaches and instructs athletes at competitions and practices in outdoor and indoor facilities, such as gymnasiums and stadiums.

*Compensation:
York's CPM Compensation Framework has a salary grid consisting of 6 or 8 steps (depending on job grade) which is reviewed annually with possible adjustments, and a lump sum Performance Based Recognition Award.
