Purpose:
The Financial Support Assistant provides financial and administrative support for the School of Medicine, under the direction of the Director, Administration & Finance.

Education:
Completion of a diploma or degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.

Experience:
Minimum of 1 year of previous experience in financial operations such as accounting, analysis, reconciliation, reporting, budgets, or accounts payable, with exposure to reconciliations and financial analysis. Experience with enterprise financial systems and reporting tools (e.g., ERP systems, eReports or equivalent).

Skills:

- Effective communication skills to provide accurate information in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to demonstrate critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Effective interpersonal skills to work with internal and external clients.
- Ability to demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to multi-task, set priorities and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook).
- Advanced working knowledge with spreadsheets (Excel).
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Knowledge of enterprise financial systems and reporting tools (ERP systems, eReports etc.).
