Purpose:
Ancillary Services provides a wide range of professionally managed campus services and amenities to enhance the student experience and support York University's mission, vision and priorities. With a commitment to sustainability, equity, diversity and inclusion, Ancillary Services works with internal and external partners to provide exceptional experiences and enhance the quality of campus life in alignment with the University's core values.Reporting to the Manager, YU-card, the Customer Service Representative (CSR) is responsible for the provision of front-line customer service for the YU-Card & Parking office by issuing YU-cards to customers, responding to inquiries about the YU-card, Meal Plan and Food Service programs, processing YU-card Meal Plan purchases and deposits of funds. Additionally, the CSR provides front-line customer service to the York community regarding parking services by accepting payments, issuing receipts for applications, special and daily sales in a high-volume area and ensuring that all data has been accurately entered.
Education:
High School Diploma.
Experience:
Minimum 2 years related experience in a front-line customer service position in a high-volume environment inclusive of one (1) year experience with cash and debit/credit card handling and payment processing. Experience with one-card systems or similar systems/databases preferred. Experience using virtual queue management software (ex. Qless) is an asset

- Demonstrated knowledge of computer applications including intermediate skills using word processing (MS Word), spreadsheets (Excel), data management (Excel, E-Reports), and E-mail (Outlook).
- Accurate keyboarding skills for data entry and processing.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy working with figures and information.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, concisely and effectively in written and verbal formats.
- Demonstrated organizational and time management skills including the ability to adapt to changing priorities, deal with multiple requests, high volume, and support multiple managers.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently.
- Demonstrated ability to act in a professional manner when dealing with difficult situations and maintain confidentiality
