Purpose:
The Faculty of Liberal Arts and Professional Studies (LA&PS) is the largest Faculty at York University with over 27,000 undergraduate and graduate students, and almost 100 programs delivered through 25 Departments, Schools and Colleges. Through innovative course design, diverse experiential education and learning opportunities, and a supportive community environment, our students receive the education they need to create big ideas that have an impact on the world.The Learning Resource Support Specialist (LRSS) is responsible for supporting students, faculty and staff in LA&PS learning spaces by providing front-desk support and customer service, technical support and general administrative support to the day-to-day operations of LA&PS learning spaces. The role is responsible for ensuring proper usage of the learning space computers, software, applications, audio-visual equipment and peripherals, according to appropriate policies and procedures. Additionally, the role supports active learning methodologies utilized by LA&PS course instructors in LA&PS learning spaces.The role will support the vision, mission, values and strategic direction of the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies and York University, and contribute to a positive, supportive, and student-focused team environment of high performance, respect, trust, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Education:
College Diploma in a related field or an equivalent of 2 years' recent experience (defined as within the last five years) working at York University and performing the same or similar tasks. This education equivalency is in addition to the experiential requirements outlined below.
Experience:
Three (3) years related experience supporting learning technology, including computer hardware, software and peripherals. Experience diagnosing and resolving hardware and software problems associated with desktops, mobile devices and peripherals. Experience providing training and information to users. Experience supporting and maintaining audio-visual equipment. Experience supporting digital media equipment, control software, video creation and editing software.

Effective organizational skills, including the ability to multi-task, set priorities and meet deadlines.
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team in an environment of high volume and competing priorities.
Intermediate MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Ability to use collaboration tools (MS Teams, SharePoint, WordPress).
Knowledge of an on-line computerized records system (SIS - Student Information System).
