Purpose:
The Laboratory Systems Support provides technical and operational support, as well as hardware and software maintenance for the Electrical Engineering & Computer Science department in Lassonde, under the direction of the Director, IT & Research Computing.

Education:
Completion of a post-secondary diploma or degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering.

Experience:
Minimum of one (1) year of technical and operational support experience for Linux, Windows and MacOS.

Skills:

- Ability to deal courteously and effectively with people.
- Effective communication skills to provide accurate information in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to demonstrate organizational skills to carry out a variety of tasks.
- Ability to perform basic troubleshooting of technology and equipment.
- Proficient in programming languages (Java, JavaScript, C/C++, Python) and MATLAB.
- Intermediate in scripting languages (Unix/Linux shell scripting), Apache guacamole, VNC, RDP protocols, and Samba AD and Samba file sharing.
- Knowledge of Operating Systems (Linux, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Ubuntu, Microsoft Windows and Tools, Mac OS, and freebsd).
- Basic knowledge of install automation tools (Kickstart, Ansible, and Jenkins) and of applications (Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Creative Suite, and Zoom).
