Purpose:
The York University Psychology Clinic (YUPC), associated with the Department of Psychology in the Faculty of Health, is a state-of-the art mental health and training Clinic that has shown remarkable success and growth over its first decade. The Clinic has established a solid reputation in providing a range of leading-edge, effective psychological services to members of the York University community and the community at large, serving children, families, adults and seniors. In addition, the YUPC provides in house training opportunities to graduate students in the Department of Psychology's Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) accredited Clinical Programs. Reporting to the Executive Officer, the Clinic Manager provides operational management and critical administrative leadership in creating, managing and coordinating all aspects of clinic operations. Working with the Director, YUPC, the Clinic Manager supports the effective, professional, and responsive provision of client centered services and provides support with determining operational priorities and delivers leadership in the day-to-day operations of the Clinic.

Education:
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline. Note: Position requires verification of degree(s)/credential(s).

Experience:
4 years recent experience in operations management.
2 years of management experience in a unionized environment.
Experience with strategic planning, policy development and process improvement.

Skills:
Knowledge
- Knowledge of issues pertaining to confidentiality and dealing with mental health issues.
- Knowledge of budgetary planning and control.
- Working knowledge of human resource management practices and applicable policies/regulations.Skills
- Highly effective management, customer service and interpersonal skills, including a commitment to providing excellent service and a demonstrated ability to interact courteously, effectively, constructively, and collaboratively with people at all levels of the organization and external to the University.
- Demonstrated ability to promote service excellence and operationalize changes to ensure a high functioning service environment.
- Demonstrated high level of organizational, project, time and workload management skills, including the ability to prioritize workload to meet multiple competing deadlines.
- Effective oral and written communication skills with proven report writing skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment.

- Ability to maintain strict con�dentiality.
- Effective analytical and numerical skills.
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams).
- Knowledge of relevant federal and provincial legislation on privacy and freedom of information, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and Human Rights legislation.

Additional Notes:

- Work is performed in a typical mental health clinic environment (reception waiting area and clinical offices).
- Significant interaction with team members and partners including limited possible exposure to risk (angry/emotionally unstable clients).

*Compensation:
York's CPM Compensation Framework has a salary grid consisting of 6 or 8 steps (depending on job grade) which is reviewed annually with possible adjustments, and a lump sum Performance Based Recognition Award. Employees will receive the grid adjustment and depending on performance, eligible permanent employees may move to the next step of the grid and may receive a lump sum Performance Based Recognition Award.Visit the CPM Compensation page on the HR Website to find out more about York's CPM Compensation Program.

Please note that this position operates on a hybrid schedule (three days onsite and two days remote). However, for the first few months, the successful candidate will be required to work onsite five days per week.
