In advancing the Division of Students' vision as 'Partners in Student Success' and reporting to the Director, Student Systems, the Project and Delivery Manager (PDM) manages key client projects defined for the organization and to meet business goals. Project management responsibilities include the planning of large scale complex multi facet projects requiring sophisticated coordination to ensure completion of projects on time within budget and within scope. Oversees all aspects of projects from the planning to implementation. Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, monitors, and summarizes progress of project(s). Prepares reports for senior management regarding status of project and ensures proper documentation and end user satisfaction. This position requires a service-focused professional who treats members of the community with respect, values their time, strives for personal best, and collaborates to improve service experiences for all.
University degree e.g., Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent. Masters degree preferred.PMP designation (or similar accreditation) is required.
Minimum five (5) years of current and related experience with a broad working knowledge of information technologies that provides a credible framework for the preparation and monitoring of IT related projects. Proven ability to oversee the overall development and implementation of large-scale IT projects, including leading project teams both in a physical and virtual team environment. Sufficient knowledge in project management methodology, e.g. PMBOK, systems development lifecycle frameworks, agile and quality assurance, e.g. systems and user acceptance testing techniques. Knowledge and understanding of ERP, CRM, e-business and custom applications. Experience managing projects relating to a Student Information System are an asset.
Proven IT project management skills including research, planning, organizational skills, and budget preparation. Time management and the ability to work under pressure of high volume and expectation, while meeting multiple deadlines for multiple projects. Ability to delegate work tasks. Strong service orientation coupled with an ability to recognize and assess the operational significance of a problem, control/mitigate the risk and set priorities accordingly. Exceptional analytical, evaluative, and technical problem-solving skills. Excellent research, presentation and report writing skills. Strong ability and willingness to work effectively as a team leader and team member. Must be able to collaborate and cooperate with team members, project sponsors, other stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment, tact, and diplomacy. Effective motivational and diplomatic skills appropriate to large and complex organizations. Ability to effectively navigate a professional and political climate. Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to deal calmly and effectively with people. Excellent oral and written communication skills to deal effectively with a wide range of contacts and to write effective documents, proposals, and reports. Advanced computer skills in MS Project, Word and Excel and PM software application tools, e.g., Roadmap, Copper, etc. Ability and willingness to learn new systems, technologies and project management methods and tools. Demonstrated experience and success in providing and/or creating conditions for service excellence for a variety of stakeholders such as students, faculty, clients, customers, colleagues, users, etc.

Office environment primarily. Spends time in meeting rooms as required. Significant interaction with team members and stakeholders as well as facilitating and managing program meetings in person, online, and by teleconference requiring active listening. Computer work and concentrated periods of analysis. Complex projects also present with multiple time requests demands and amending priorities.

York implemented a revised CPM Compensation Framework in 2019. The Framework is a salary grid consisting of 6 or 8 steps (depending on job grade) which is reviewed annually with possible adjustments, and a lump sum Performance Based Recognition Award.
