Purpose:
Under the direction of the University Registrar & Assistant Vice Provost and the Assistant Vice President, Global Engagement and Partnerships, the Director, International Recruitment provides leadership and strategic guidance to the York community for the development of regional recruitment strategies, risk management and institution-wide recruitment for undergraduate degree programs. The Director, International Recruitment will lead all activities, events (on and off campus), communications, conference attendance, and community outreach designed to present York University and its programs in a compelling manner to international prospective students, families, school counsellors, external partners or agents and other key influencers. The Director, International Recruitment is charged with maximizing the number and quality of a diverse population of international prospective students and applicants while achieving the University's objectives, broadly defined in the University Academic Plan.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., education, international relations, or business).
Valid Passport.
Experience:
6 years of related experience.
4 years of management experience.
Experience living or working abroad. Experience in international recruitment and strategic enrolment management, communications, and strategy development.
Experience managing a remote multi-regional global team. Experience working with international counsellors and organizations.
Experience with online management information systems (CRM) and conversion management.
Experience working with a CRM and/or business intelligence (BI) platforms (e.g. Power BI, Tableau).
Experience with large record management systems (e.g. - MSAccess, CRM Dynamics, SIS).
Skills:
Knowledge
Thorough understanding of international student markets, trends and key influencers.
Knowledge of trends and challenges in Canadian Higher Education, specifically university context.
Knowledge of and experience within the secondary international education sector.
Understanding of York University's procedures as they relate to the Freedom of Information and Privacy Act (FIPPA) and management of confidential information.Skills

This position is required to travel internationally abroad for 6-8 weeks per year, including evening and weekend work.

*Compensation:
York's CPM Compensation Framework has a salary grid consisting of 6 or 8 steps (depending on job grade) which is reviewed annually with possible adjustments, and a lump sum Performance Based Recognition Award.
