Purpose:
Ancillary Services provides a wide range of professionally managed campus services and amenities to enhance the student experience and support York University's mission, vision and priorities. With a commitment to sustainability, equity, diversity and inclusion, Ancillary Services works with internal and external partners to provide exceptional experiences and enhance the quality of campus life in alignment with the University's core values.The Building Operations Assistant provides exceptional on-site support to building residents and department employees, through actions such as on-site inspections, supporting the Operations team and providing excellent customer service to building occupants.

Education:
High school diploma with some post-secondary education in hospitality, building maintenance, or a related field required.

Experience:
2 (two) years of experience including customer service in a high-volume environment required. Experience conducting assessments or inspections required.

Skills:

- High levels of demonstrated organizational and administrative skills including: self-direction, prioritizing and multi-tasking. Able to work in environment producing high volume and maintain level of productivity under pressure required. Time management training required. Attention to detail in written and other communicated material.
- Demonstrated levels of excellent customer service. Dealing courteously and effectively with people, exercising tact and courtesy. Sensitivity and demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Front-line customer service experience.
- Excellent, clear, effective communications skills (oral, aural, written). Demonstrated ability to communicate change required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of computer applications.
- Able to efficiently and effectively utilize Windows 10 and Office 365.
