Purpose:
In advancing the Division of Students' vision as Partners in Student Success', the Student Systems team within the Office of the University Registrar (OUR) collaborates tightly with University Information Technology (UIT) in the development, maintenance and user support of all student-facing and administrative student information systems to effectively enhance the student experience from student recruitment through to convocation. The Students Systems team supports and enables OUR functional partners, Faculties and other university units to achieve their student service objectives through operational support and systems enhancements.Reporting into a Business Transformation Manager, the Senior Business Analyst is responsible for coordinating business and technology transformation projects to ensure on-time and quality delivery of solutions for the entire student lifecycle, including recruitment, admissions, enrolment, scholarships and awards, student accounts, financial aid, registrarial services, academic scheduling, student records and convocation. The Senior Business Analyst addresses the needs for all projects, including work related to the major system purchases and implementations, as well as identity and access management, data preparation, reporting and analytics. The Senior Business Analyst develops and executes transition plans to ensure successful operationalization of newly developed solutions, which includes preparing documentation, leading training sessions and providing subject matter support during the transition period. The Senior Business Analyst is a key member of the Student Systems team, working with university stakeholder groups, other team members and Solution Integrators to arrive at solutions that meet user requirements and are delivered on time with high quality and integrity.

Education:
University degree required in a related field such as computer science, information technology, project management or business analysis, or an equivalent of 4 years' recent experience, within the last 5 years, working at York University and performing the same or similar tasks. This education equivalency is in addition to the experiential requirements outlined below.

Experience:
Four (4) years' experience in technical projects, systems enhancements, or systems maintenance to support multiple business areas, including 1 year at a senior analyst capacity.

- Expert ability in business analysis, information management and process modelling with demonstrated analytical, process re-engineering, and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced skills in Excel, Access and PowerPoint, Visio.
- Effective analytical and interpretative thinking skills.
- Effective relationship-building and self-management skills.
- Customer-focused and demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities.
- Demonstrated ability in creating process flow, data flow and entity relationship diagrams using a Unified Modelling Language (UML) tool such as Visio.
- Demonstrated ability in delivering presentations, technical writing, and facilitating discussions with cross-functional teams, working with, and supporting complex, high-profile projects that impact interconnected business functions.
- Demonstrated ability in training in the requirements management lifecycle, business analysis, or project management.
- Knowledge in various systems development methodologies including Waterfall, Iterative and Agile.
- Demonstrated ability in applying various techniques to elicit, analyze and communicate requirements.
- Demonstrated ability in business analysis planning to identify tasks and deliverables and to estimate the level of effort.
- Demonstrated ability in delivering quality presentations on workflows, business requirements, system design, test plans, risk management and project status.
- Demonstrated strong technical writing skills to develop thorough, coherent, and informative requirements and other project documents.
- Demonstrated ability in using project and resource management tools such as MS Project, Jira, Microsoft Teams, and Office 365.

Please note: This position requires the candidate to produce a verification of degree(s), credentials(s), or equivalencies from accredited institutions and/or international equivalents at the time of interview. Hours of work: Monday to Friday 8:30 to 4:30.Summer: Friday hours reduced by 1 hour first weekend in June to Labour Day WeekendOccasional overtime will be availableVacation restriction:Vacation may be restricted depending on operational requirements. Reasonable advanced notice will be provided to staff of pending operational and project related restricted periods.
