Purpose:
Markham Campus (MC) will embed York University in the heart of one of the most diverse and dynamic urban communities in the province and country. The team champions career development across the student life cycle, nurtures relationships with employer and industry partners, and facilitates valuable work integrated experiences for students to accelerate their professional development. They collaborate closely with colleagues from the Division of Students, Associate Vice President Teaching & Learning, and the faculties to promote a distinctive student-employer experience at Markham Campus.

Reporting to the Manager, Educational and Employer Partnerships under the leadership of the Director, Educational and Employer Partnerships, the role supports strategic student success in work integrated outcomes with a wide variety of partners and participants including community, employers, alumni, students, staff and faculty. The role supports the vision, mission, values and strategic direction of Markham Campus and contributes to the goals and objectives of the University.

Education:
University Degree in a related field such as Arts, Humanities or four years recent experience (defined as within the last five years) working at York University performing the same or similar tasks. This education equivalency is in addition to the experiential requirements outlined below.

Experience:
Two (2) years recent related experience coordinating a post-secondary experiential program (i.e., coordinating employment and/or work integrated opportunities for clients/students); using a Student Information System and/or similar database/customer relationship management system.
This role requires experience building and maintaining relationships with a wide variety of partners (including community, employers, alumni, students, staff and faculty.

Skills:
Effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to articulate and assimilate complex information.
MS Word (intermediate to advanced), MS Excel (intermediate), MS Access(intermediate), MS PowerPoint (intermediate). email (i.e., Outlook).
Demonstrated experience with and knowledge of web design tools (i.e., HTML, FTP).
Demonstrated ability to perform internet searches.
Sound knowledge of experiential education theory and practice.
Proven research and analytical and reporting skills.
Proven success in establishing collaborative partnerships, excellent track record of building and maintaining business networks and relationships to achieve position/department objectives.
Demonstrated presentation skills.
Demonstrated ability to implement improved processes.
Strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
Efficient organizational and planning skills.
Efficient problem-solving skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
