Purpose:
The k2i academy, in the Lassonde School of Engineering ('School'), is an innovative ecosystem of thought leaders and partners focused on bringing Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM) experiences to youth, educators and communities, through the lens of equity, diversity and inclusion. k2i academy designs innovative programs that address systemic barriers to Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) post-secondary pathways, enabling students and diverse groups who are underrepresented in STEM professions, including Women, Black and Indigenous Youth, to explore and access various opportunities. The k2i academy is committed to building sustainable STEAM programs that engages diverse learners and provides equitable and inclusive program design(s) with the objective to diversify the STEM profession â?? from kindergarten to industry. The Program Administrator, k2i role will work with the k2i administrative team in coordinating all program logistics. The role will work with internal and external partners, such as, school boards, schools, educators, STEM/STEAM community organizations, government organizations, etc., to assist in the development and implementation of a variety of programs. The role will work closely with the Programming Officer, k2i, to support the administrative coordination of k2i activities related to program design and delivery. The role will collaborate with the Programming Officer, k2i to support k2i operational functions including, scheduling, materials planning, program registration, and pre- and post-program evaluation for the successful delivery of k2i programs. The role will align to the vision, mission, values and strategic direction of k2i academy, the Lassonde School of Engineering and York University. The k2i academy is committed to building long-term, sustainable engagements with diverse, innovative partners to create equity-focused K-12 STEM educational experiences. The program(s) developed by the k2i academy will be intentionally designed to reflect equity, diversity, and inclusion and connect with community partners to include diverse perspectives.

Education:
University degree in a science, computer science, engineering, or math discipline or an equivalent of 4 years recent experience (defined as within the last five years) working at York University and performing the same or similar tasks. This education equivalency is in addition to the experiential requirements outlined below.

Experience:
Two (2) years' recent experience working in STEM and/or STEAM outreach programming. Experience coordinating program scheduling, participant registration, event logistics, materials purchasing and budget tracking of large, complex programs in collaboration with a wide range of internal and external collaborators is required. Experience with the selection and procurement of STEM and/or STEAM learning resources is required. Experience creating and maintaining complex registration processes and databases is required. Strong project and budget tracking and facilitation of collaborative teams is required. Experience with reviewing and editing funding and/or grant proposals is considered an asset.

Regular travel within the GTA will be required to support the operational delivery of programming at the Keele and Markham campuses, in schools, public libraries and attend off-campus events.

Please note: This position requires the successful candidate maintain a valid Driver's License and a produce a satisfactory Driver's Abstract. The successful candidate would have to provide proof of a valid Driver's License and a satisfactory Driver's Abstract upon being hired. Please note: This position requires the candidate to produce a verification of degree(s), credentials(s), or equivalencies from accredited institutions and/or international equivalents at the time of interview. Please note: This position requires the candidate to produce a Vulnerable Sector Check satisfactory to the University prior to commencement of employment.Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm. *Note: Hours may change. Start and finish time may be adjusted to support k2i programs and events. Occasional Saturday and/or Sunday work may be required. Summer: Same.Overtime may be necessary during peak periodsPeak periods for this position: June, July, August.Hours during peak periods: Flexibility in work schedule will be required to accommodate the k2i programs and events.
