Purpose:
The Lifeguard provides safe and effective supervision of the pool area following the relevant policies and regulations under the direction of the Manager, Recreation Programs.
Education:
Successful completion of all York University required trainings, included but not limited to WHMIS, AODA and Health and Safety Training.Required Qualifications: As per Regulation 565, the following certifications are required for all lifeguards in Ontario. 1) Current National Lifeguard certificate (as per Lifesaving Society, Ontario Branch)2) Standard First Aid with CPR C (as per Regulation 1101, WSIB) from one of the following national partners Lifesaving Society, Red Cross and St. John Ambulance.*Please note all qualifications must remain current throughout duration of employment
Experience:
Previous work experience may be considered.
Skills:
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to promote an environment in which everyone feels engaged.
