Purpose:
This role provides library technology and computing support across five library branches (Bronfman, Frost, Steacie, Markham, and Scott). The role is responsible for setup, installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of library computer software and hardware, printers, audio visual (AV) and Makerspace equipment, library-specific equipment including self-checkout stations, kiosks and technical support for library classes and events. Also, the role is responsible for troubleshooting software and hardware issues, providing frontline technical assistance and training to staff, faculty, students and the public, and ensuring users are equipped to navigate evolving digital tools within the library environment.
Education:
College Diploma in Information Technology, or Information Systems Management, or a related field or an equivalent of 2 years recent experience (defined as within the last three years) working at York University and performing the same or similar tasks. This education equivalency is in addition to the experiential requirements outlined below.
Experience:
Three (3) years of recent related experience in computer software installation, diagnosing and troubleshooting computer hardware and peripherals, supporting classrooms and/or events, and makerspace, VR and AV technologies.

- Windows 10 & 11, Mac OS
- Microsoft 365, Zoom, Microsoft Teams
- Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox
- Understanding and experience using Active Directory (AD)
- Troubleshooting common network problems (DNS, DHCP)
- Ability to set up microphones, webcams, and AV equipment for events
- Comptia A+ Certification

Hours of work: Monday to Friday 9am-5pm Requests to work overtime may occur periodically throughout the year
