Purpose:
Learning Technology Services (LTS) is a central unit within University Information Technology (UIT) that provides leadership and guidance in the use of technological learning solutions and media services to the University community to support, supplement or enhance teaching and research. Under the direction of the Manager, Learning Technology and Media Service, the Learning Technology Solutions Coordinator role provides institution-wide consultation on the effective use of learning technologies and the creation of rich learning experiences at York University. The role acts a lead to coordinate, analyze, recommend, develop, and support innovative technological instructional solutions for the University.The Learning Technology Solutions Coordinator role translates the needs of the University community into scalable solutions that encourages adoption of relevant and emergent technologies to meet learning objectives. The role builds productive relationships with Faculties and Departments/Units throughout the University to impart the knowledge and resources needed for successful adoption of learning technologies. The role creates and fosters positive, intentional customer experiences and advocates for client needs to meet learning goals and outcomes and to enhance students' learning experience. The Learning Technology Solutions Coordinator role requires in-depth knowledge of learning technologies to best provide technical expertise, assistance, and training to the university community.The Learning Technology Solutions Coordinator role provides subject matter expertise in learning technology innovation services, applications, tools, and platforms used within LTS and UIT as well as those used by our institutional partners in Teaching Commons (TC), Faculty IT groups, and the library. When needed, the role acts as a lead for varied and complex duties for concurrent/cross functional projects, defines project tasks and workflow schedules and monitors expenses.

Education:
A university degree in a relevant discipline, such as Education, Information and Learning Technologies Instructional Design, etc. or an equivalent of 4 years recent experience (defined as within the last five years) working at York University and performing the same or similar tasks. This education equivalency is in addition to the experiential requirements outlined below. .

Experience:
Seven years related Learning Technology experience, which includes:
Five years of experience with a proven record of accomplishment in supporting fully online/technology-enabled learning.
Five years of experience in supporting learning technologies to meet intended learning goals and outcomes across a variety of instructional formats.
Five years of experience supporting a Learning Management System (LMS)
Thorough knowledge and experience with adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
Hands-on experience with new and emerging educational technologies including learning/content management systems, online collaboration software, various hardware formats and digital media technologies in general.
Experience supporting collaboration tools, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, and e-portfolios.

Skills:
Effective communication, organization, and time management skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with and translate between faculty, technologists, and administrators.
Intermediate to expert level skills in course delivery using Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Content Management Software (CMS).
Ability to effectively apply technology acceptance and change management strategies to increase the use of learning technologies.
Demonstrated ability to initiate, develop, and monitor a wide variety of complex projects involving multiple resources, both long-term and short-term, juggle multiple, and competing responsibilities.
Effective analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
Effective interpersonal skills to build relationships with colleagues at all levels.Other:
Willingness to proactively and independently learn and master new technologies in response to institutional needs.
Broad awareness of the practical effectiveness and viability of learning technologies both current and emergent.
Team player with work ethic, initiative, and the ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
