Purpose:
Under the general direction of the Executive Officer (EO), the Budget Analyst assists in preparation and monitoring of budgets, preparing reconciliations, and financial analysis while following the University's month-end and year-end procedures. Along with analyzing variances, the Budget Analyst provides recommendations for financial process improvements, including streamlining financial processes, and acts as the Libraries' first point of contact for financial inquiries. The position, as part of the Dean of Libraries Office, is a key member in supporting and contributing to the efficient day-to-day financial operations.
Education:
Community College Diploma in Finance/Accounting or an equivalent of 4 years recent experience (defined as within the last five years) working at York University and performing the same or similar tasks. This education equivalency is in addition to the experiential requirements outlined below.
Experience:
Three years recent related accounting experience and/or budget preparation, which involves multiple interrelated budgets or accounts/ preferably in a non-profit environment including working with computerized software (e.g. PeopleSoft ), monitoring, reconciling budgets, variance analysis, and preparing financial reports or In addition to a College diploma a minimum of three (3) years of the before mentioned recent related experience.

Additional Notes:
Please note: This position requires the candidate to produce a verification of degree(s), credentials(s), or equivalencies from accredited institutions and/or international equivalents at the time of interview. Hours of work: Monday to Friday: 8:30AM to 4:30PM. Requests to work overtime may occur during peak periods.
